I use a Logitech Z system and I can tell the difference between sound cards easily with these speakers. Where the Creative cards shine is in EAX audio effects in games. I’d recommend staying away from any Creative sound card labeled as “Value”, “Special Edition” or “Limited Edition” as these are usually very stripped-down versions of their higher-end boards which lack key entertainment features like Advanced EAX and CMSS upmixes to ga-965p-xs3.
If you want the best 3D sound effects in your games, go with a Creative Labs sound card for sure. It’s tinny and only sounds decent with the effects added.

I do not mean to offend, but the Logitech X speakers are too average-end for you to truly enjoy all that these modern sound cards really offer. I think this should be a no-brainer. The other ahdio is for me to return to come PC Gaming.
Now, to be specific, I recommend in getting at least ga-965p-dw3 Audigy 2 sound card to enjoy most of the benefits of discrete sound cards. The PC this is going into is not in my Hometheatre room, thus it will never be conntected to my Stereo Receiver.
Yes, a lot of people will tell you that onboard sound is crap. The CPU socket area is pretty free of obstructions and Gigabyte has done a good layout job with the board’s ga-965p-de3 ATX power connections. I read the warning about the low-end Creative Cards, however this one seems to have all the features you mentioned might not be on the low-end cards: The X-Fi series are quite expensive in comparison wudio the previous generation of Creative sound cards, so you’d better have the means of enjoying the enhancements offered properly.

I use both with a Logitech Z 5. Singapore Malaysia Philippines Indonesia. I’ve been running AC97 onboard for about a year now and its decent but takes up for FPS from my games!

I am running Xs with my onboard one. Is Ga-965p-ds Realforce the Realthing? But anyway, I would recommend anyone with onboard sound to go discrete regardless of their speaker system quality, price, etc.

Aside from laptops space constraintsI don’t know why motherboard manufacturers still bother to include onboard sound on any new mobo. Rotate image Save Cancel. For those that want to know, the GAP-DS3 retail board that we got had a C1 stepping P chipset and not the supposedly better aaudio C2 stepping.
Its always going to be onboard that has the most disadvantages.

Besides the PCIe x16 graphics slot, we have three PCI slots and another three PCIe x1 slots, so there should be more than enough leeway for any add-on cards you may like to have. It sounds as amazing as my brother’s Creative audigy. However, one might find the storage connectors to be a little tight fitting since they are all grouped together at the bottom corner.
Both the onboard sound and the Creative Audigy card sound equally good. I should point out that I do not need anything “High-end” – just reasonable quality. One of the purposes of buying new machine is to be able power my Dual monitor setup without any lagging one monitor typically runs slingbox window.
